Bioengineering is the specialty that applies principles of engineering and life sciences in the manufacture of biological substitutes to maintain, improve or restore the function of organs and tissues in the human body. From eminently interdisciplinary tissue engineering concepts includes such diverse areas as cell biology, micro manufacturing, robotics and materials science to design replacement parts of the body.
